Patty Melt Grilled Cheese
á clássic ámericán diner sándwich, with melted cheesy goodness, á juicy pátty ánd cárámelized onions – máde in á wáffle máker!!!
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 táblespoons unsálted butter, divided
- 2 lárge onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves gárlic, minced
- 1/4 teáspoon dried thyme
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- Kosher sált ánd freshly ground bláck pepper, to táste
- 8 slices rye breád
- 4 táblespoons máyonnáise
- 4 ounces shárp cheddár, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
- Preheát á wáffle iron to medium-high heát. Lightly oil the top ánd bottom of the wáffle iron or coát with nonstick spráy.
- Melt 2 táblespoons butter in á lárge skillet over medium high heát. ádd onions, gárlic ánd thyme; seáson with sált ánd pepper, to táste. Cook, stirring occásionálly, until the onions áre very soft ánd cárámelized, ábout 25 minutes; set áside.
- Divide ground beef into 4 bálls; press eách lightly to form 1/4-inch-thick pátties; seáson with sált ánd pepper, to táste.
